“Raise Him Right:” Oluebube Chukwu Calls For Renewed Commitment To The Boy Child On International Day Of The Male Child

As the world marks the International Day of the Male Child, the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, Oluebube A. Chukwu, has called for renewed attention to the growth, protection, and proper upbringing of boys within society.

Speaking in commemoration of the day, Oluebube described the occasion as a moment of reflection on the future of the male child and the important role young boys play in building stronger families, communities, and nations.

According to him, society must intentionally invest in raising responsible, disciplined, and emotionally balanced boys who will grow into productive men capable of contributing positively to society.

“The International Day of the Male Child is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the growth, well-being, and future of boys within our communities. Beyond celebrating them, we must also guide, mentor, and support them to become responsible leaders of tomorrow,” he stated.

Oluebube noted that many young boys today face increasing social pressures, negative influences, and a lack of proper mentorship, stressing that parents, religious institutions, schools, and government must work together to shape their future.

He further urged stakeholders not to neglect the moral and emotional development of boys while advocating for equal opportunities, quality education, and value-driven leadership for the younger generation.

The Governor’s aide also encouraged young boys across the country to remain focused, respectful, hardworking, and committed to excellence despite societal challenges.

He maintained that building a better society begins with raising children with the right values, adding that empowering the boy child is essential to achieving long-term peace, stability, and development.

The International Day of the Male Child is observed globally on May 16 each year to promote the well-being of boys and highlight issues affecting their development, education, mental health, and overall welfare.
